One of the key ingredients that I believe is missing in today’s generation is “reverence”. Reverence is simply having a high regard, deep respect and appreciation for something or someone. If we would all be honest, there is much lack of reverence for anything anymore. With reverence comes loyalty. People just aren’t loyal to what they don’t have deep respect and appreciation for. Period!

Much deception has infiltrated our thinking as it pertains to relationships. We quickly latch on to what appears to be the “new norm”. Whatever happened to morality being a trend? We’ve gotten so far away from having standards and celebrating what’s right. We’re afraid and hesitant to speak out on what’s wrong, with a fear of appearing that we’re being judgemental. When you have a reverence for truth, it’s hard to contain the passion that stirs within. Especially when you’ve been set free from truth.

Love is kind. Love is not rude. Love is not self-seeking. When we’re being led to speak out in truth, it should be with kindness and compassion to whomever we are trying to help set free.

I’d like to help set some women free today.

  • Women who feel like they’ll never get married.
  • Women who’ve been deceived into thinking that marriage doesn’t work.
  • Women who want marriage so badly, that they’re anxious for a man to pop the question.

Also wives for us too! Who are we to think we have it made, just because he put a ring on it?

Marriage is God’s institution and a beautiful thing that’s worthy of reverence! There is no perfect marriage. However, there is a perfect God who created this institution to bring Him glory and bear fruit in the earth through it. Scripture says; he that finds a wife, finds a good thing. Ladies, let’s work on becoming our truest self! Work on being that good thing! Not just for a man but unto the glory of God who called you into existence.

For my single sisters, any woman who is “unmarried”, take advantage of the freedom to truly seek God without having to pause for responsibilities to a husband and children. Freely pursue your purpose in this season and embrace that vertical relationship! Remember it’s You and God. For our Maker is our husband–the LORD Almighty is his name–He desires you. How is your life pleasing Him?  Work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.  Find contentment in this season of singleness and allow the love of God to quench your thirst! We all have longings and desires, even those of us who are married. We miss the mark when we feel as if those longings can only be filled by other people and things. This is deception! Unfulfilled longings and desires are met, when we allow God to direct us and bring us into the fullness of what He has for us. With gratitude and appreciation.

Wives, if we are dishonoring and rebelling against God’s word, we will fail miserably as the wife God designed us to be. We have been mandated to respect our husband. Reverence! Indeed we’re all a work in progress. May we endeavor to be progressing. There is so much attack on marriages today. We all have our share of issues, but as we commit to God and His way we win! The thief comes to kill, steal and destroy BUT GOD, came to give life and life more abundantly.

Reverence God’s idea of who we are. No matter how much the world may romanticize this false perception of what success looks like. True womanhood! We are first His bride! Toil not with the cares of this world that choke the life out of us. Instead, toil in cultivating real relationship with the greatest love all. In turn, all other relationships become healthier.
